An Ebola epidemic in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is currently out of control. Aid and health experts have warned that it can become as serious as the outbreak that devastated West Africa between 2013 and 2016. With more than 1,600 cases and almost 1,100 deaths since July 2018 (mostly women and children), the outbreak in DRC’s North Kivu region is the second largest in history.
