NRS Relief and AidEx launch Humanitarian & Development Journalism Award
To mark the World Humanitarian Day today, NRS International is pleased to announce the launch of the Humanitarian & Development Journalism Award, in partnership with AidEx, the leading forum for the international aid and development community.
With this award, NRS Relief and AidEx aim to celebrate and recognize the best of humanitarian and development reporting and photojournalism across the globe.
The award is split into two categories:
- Photojournalism: For a best photograph / set of photographs
- Reporting: For print, radio, TV broadcast and digital
“The standard of humanitarian and development reporting influences the way the world perceives this community’s achievements. AidEx wants to help celebrate the hard work done by journalists in portraying the realities of an often misunderstood sector.” – Nicholas Rutherford, Event Director for AidEx
Nominations for the Award will be judged by an independent panel of experts and by an online public vote. One winner will be selected from each category to receive a trophy and a cash prize of €2,500, conferred in person at the AidEx Brussels. Finalists attending the award ceremony in Brussels will also be eligible for partial reimbursement of their travel and accommodation costs.
There are no geographical limitations on eligibility for the prize – entries from any country or region will be considered. Journalists and photographers may either submit their own work or have their work nominated by a third party.
