NRS Relief dispatches tents, tarpaulins, in response to Pakistan flooding
NRS International is contributing to the relief efforts following the devastating floods in Northern and Eastern Pakistan. Its Lahore-based factory, H. Sheikh Noor-ud-Din & Sons, has fulfilled an order of 40,000 family tents and 49,000 tarpaulins from the Government of Pakistan.
The tents and tarpaulins were dispatched to the warehouses of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in Muzaffargarh, Lahore, Islamabad and Jamshoro, and are now available to the local authorities worst-affected by the heavy monsoon rains.
Over the past six months the floodwaters have affected over 1.5 million people in more than 4,000 villages in Baluchistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
NRS Relief, an industry leading supplier of products for the humanitarian aid, public health and development sectors, is expecting to supply 22,000 more family tents as part of this ongoing relief effort over the coming months.
As the Government of Pakistan carries out assessments in many newly affected areas, NRS Relief continues to work round-the-clock to ensure that aid essentials will be ready to help the people of Pakistan in their time of need.
