NRS Relief welcomes ICRC to its manufacturing arm in Lahore
NRS International’s Pakistan-based manufacturing facility, H. Sheikh Noor-ud-Din & Sons (HSNDS), has hosted a product evaluation visit from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
The ICRC delegates who visited the factory were:
- Mr. Thomas Riess, Regional Logistician for Asia Pacific, ICRC
- Ms. Maike Krueger, Regional Logistics Coordinator, ICRC Pakistan
- Mr. Wasif Saddiq, Head of Logistics Centre Peshawar, ICRC Pakistan
The delegation was welcomed by the HSNDS Board of Directors and senior executives from the factory’s production and quality management departments.
The ICRC representatives visited the factory as part of their comprehensive assessment of supply chain. They aim to evaluate all production and quality processes, from the sourcing of raw materials all the way through to delivery of the final products. Such assessments are performed by ICRC to ensure that its potential and current suppliers adhere to global standards of management and production processes.
“We would like to thank the management of HSNDS for facilitating our visit to the production units. We were impressed to see the scale of the manufacturing operation and its overall rapid growth and expansion. HSNDS has demonstrated that it is managing its operations very effectively, and production and quality management processes are to be commended,” according to Mr. Riess, ICRC regional Logistician for Asia Pacific.
ICRC operates worldwide, helping people affected by conflict and armed violence and promoting the laws that protect victims of war. An independent and neutral organisation, it is based in Geneva, Switzerland, and employs some 13,000 people in more than 80 countries. Funded mainly by voluntary donations from governments and from national Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the ICRC has been working in Pakistan since 1947.
“We were delighted to host ICRC. We are very proud of what we have achieved at HSNDS, building up our manufacturing facility from humble beginnings to what is now a beacon of manufacturing excellence in Pakistan and indeed further afield,” said by the Executive Director of Production at HSNDS.
NRS Relief looks forward to working hand-in-hand with ICRC and other international agencies to continue this development and reach new levels of success.
