Key Features
- Reinforced plastic tarpaulin in 4 m x 5 m sheet or 4 m x 50 m roll (or Eco-Design Tarpaulin: 4 m x 6 m sheet or 4 m x 60 m roll) developed by International Research Project 2023 and designed for long outdoor use in all climates.
- Made of woven high density black polyethylene (HDPE) fibres, warp x weft, laminated on both sides with low density polyethylene (LDPE) coating.
- Features fire retardant, waterproof and UV-resistant properties.
- Serves as a highly recommended option for family shelter protection.

Materials

Sheet / roll
190 ±20 g/m² (or Eco-Design Tarpaulin: 170 ±10 g) woven polyethylene (HDPE) inner black fibres, warp x weft, laminated on both sides with LDPE coating
Tensile strength
Min 600N both directions warp and weft (BS 2576, 50mm grab test or equivalent), or Eco-Design Tarpaulin: Min 750N, 15-35% elongation in warp and weft in plain sheet under ISO 1421-1
UV resistance
Max 5% loss of original tensile strength under ISO 1421 after 1500 hours UV under ASTM G53/94 (UVB 313nm peak)
Welding
Only 1 is allowed, lengthwise. Min resistance 80% of original tarpaulin tensile strength in the weft under ISO 1421 plus additional procedure
Eyelets / Punch holes
Aluminium reinforcement eyelets or equivalent on 4 sheet sides of single sheets at 100 cm (±5 cm) centre to centre, providing very strong fixation points, or Eco-Design Tarpaulin: Seven holes of 8 ±1 mm on the bands at 1 m ±5% intervals, punched through the band and tarpaulin
