NRS Relief ready to supply relief items to clients responding to Typhoon Phanfone and Puerto Rico Earthquake
Emergency shelter, tarpaulins, water containers and solar lights are available for deployment
On December 24, 2019, a devastating Typhoon Phanfone made landfall in Eastern Samar, Phillipines. Till date, Phanfone has claimed 50 lives, injured 362 while 5 remain missing. It has displaced a total of 174,000 people, with the number of affected people as high 3,271,500 in over 3,060 villages.
Simultaneously, on the other end of the Pacific, about 2000 quakes have shaken Puerto Rico since December 2019. The most recent of these is a 6.4 magnitude earthquake that occurred last week on January 7, 2020. The series of earthquakes have caused damages worth $110 million, and affected a total of 600 public and privately owned buildings.
