NRS Relief, manufacturing arm passes ICRC Social Compliance Audit
NRS Relief is pleased to announce that its manufacturing arm, H. Sheikh Noor-ud-Din & Sons (HSNDS), has been audited by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) through the inspection company UL on February 11 in Lahore, Pakistan.
The evaluation, which focused on social compliance, safety and security and quality management, aims to assess management and human resource practices and also addresses the company’s environmental impact.
The ICRC delegates who visited the factory were:
- Mr. Stephane Huot-Marchand, Quality Manager – Purchasing Unit, ICRC Switzerland
- Mr. Wasif Saddiq, Head of Logistics Centre Peshawar, ICRC Pakistan
- Ms. Maike Krueger, Regional Logistics Coordinator, ICRC Pakistan
The delegation was welcomed by the HSNDS’s Board of Directors, Quality Management, and Business Development & Sales teams at NRS International.
Onsite assessments of potential and current suppliers are performed by ICRC on a regular basis. ICRC requires suppliers to match up to global standards of social compliance, management/production processes and environmental impact to make it to their list of business partners. While selecting a company, ICRC looks for suppliers which promote an ethical way of working and managing their enterprises.
A few points of recommendations were discussed to maintain the factory’s operational standards and continuously improve the quality level, which will be adhered to immediately. NRS International is looking forward to welcoming audit and assessment teams to its factory anytime and showcase how its supply chain is managed in a sustainable way.
