NRS Relief’s #PeaceDoves campaign makes headlines on World Peace Day 2018
To mark the annual celebration of the UN International Day of Peace on 21 September, NRS Relief officially kicked off its #PeaceDoves campaign with UK-based organization Empathy Action campaign to give wings to a message of hope, peace and reconciliation, so vital for our world today.
The project, in collaboration with women stitchers from NRS International’s factory in Lahore, Pakistan, sees the production of 650 handcrafted dove toys made from upcycled offcuts of NRS Relief’s refugee blankets and tarpaulins.
The media covered our initiative in print, on radio and online, prompting much interest and discussions with key actors from the humanitarian sector. To date, we have been featured in five dailies (in the UAE and Pakistan), one radio broadcast by BBC in the UK, and multiple online articles and social posts.
