Trophy time in London
NRS Relief, has received the UPS International Disaster Relief trophy for its integrated and immediate response in the aftermath of the 2015 Nepal earthquake. The award was given to NRS Relief representative Martina Aureli, who was leading for the Nepal operations for tents, core relief items and solar items during the 2016 Responsible Business Awards Gala in the 02 Arena in London on 11 July.
The UPS International Disaster Relief Award forms one of the 2016 Responsible Business Awards, which are organised by the charity Business in the Community and under the patronage of HRH The Prince of Wales, who personally addressed the audience in London. Supported by NRS Relief’s long-standing client, the UK Department for International Development (DFID), these prestigious and respected awards champion responsible business.

International Disaster Relief and Resilience event
Ms. Aureli attended a pre-award gala event, the International Disaster Relief and Resilience event, together with her colleague Wieke de Vries, Senior Marketing & Communications manager of NRS Relief. Joined by fellow finalists, they participated in a simulation sharing and using The Matching Tool, which is being developed with the support of PwC and aims to match business resources with humanitarian needs in a disaster context.
Over and above what is expected of a relief supplier
The award ceremony took place later that evening in the O2 Arena. NRS Relief received its recognition particularly for being the first relief supplier to travel to the country to identify emergency relief needs on the ground. The judges commented that NRS went well over and above what would normally be expected from a commercial supplier. The response was considered to be an excellent example of an efficient, well-organised operation, achieved significant results in challenging circumstances.
